My Project
Westover Hills Elementary School students love visiting the library where they can explore their interests, find answers to their many questions, and see themselves and the lives of others in the books available to them. I strive to make the library a fun, welcoming place where students learn through play and inquiry. WHES students are so smart and creative; it is only logical that they have a variety of options for demonstrating what they learn in the library.
Your help is needed in stocking the library with materials that will help students express themselves and share what they learn throughout the school year.
The library is well-stocked with non-consumable items like Lego, Code and Go mice and Keva planks. What is needed to start the year are essential tools that enable students to carry out their ideas and share their discoveries. This Donors Choose project includes requests for crayons, coloring pencils, glue, post-it notes, and scissors--supplies necessary for student creativity. Also included in this project is a classroom set of headphones so students can focus on Nearpod assignments, coding projects, and the variety of multimedia excerpts that accompany our lessons. Lastly is a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card for visually engaging graphic organizers to accompany themed research projects.
