I work with transitional kindergarten students, they start with me at 4 years of age and between September 2nd and December 2nd of the school year they all turn 5 years old. These students just miss the newest cutoff age for kindergarten and will start kindergarten the following year. It is my job to work on their social emotional development and supply them with enough skills that will allow them to deal with any given situation. It's tricky for kids to express what their feeling if they don't have a name for it and my job is to help them figure out what emotions they are feeling to help prepare them for continued success.
My students are energetic, full of life and love school!
I want to keep it that way and focus that energy into learning. They make mistakes and that is OK, we learn from every scenario in the classroom. My students love to explore new things and are extremely busy bodied.
My kids have been through a natural disaster, the CampFire, they deserve the things they once had! We are now combined TK/K, 5 and 6 year olds in one room.
My Project
These materials will give my students the opportunity to have fun hands-on building activities while doing STEM. My students used to have multiple items that gave them the opportunity to build and engineer.
Help me supply my students with the engineering supplies they once had, before the fire took everything.
My kiddos loved building with Picasso Pieces, Lego's, Emido's, etc... They used to build me new buildings and structures every day!
This will help my students' learning by teaching them to be creative and innovative with new designs everyday! My lessons in building and construction will incorporate science and math. This will help students begin to get a love for building early on.
