My Project
The magnetic blocks and marbles kit will help to support our K science curriculum. It will also help our students develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills starting in kindergarten.
Many of our students are from very low-income homes with low exposure to building critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
In the age of technology, students are definitely lacking critical thinking skills due to the instant gratification of the internet at their fingertips. Instead of pushing technology in the form of laptops, computers, etc, these materials will open up a needed area in young children's minds to develop the needed skills for cognitive development that is definitely lacking nowadays.
Bringing learning back to hands-on and working through issues, students will be able to create, problem-solve and so much more. With that said, students will grow not only cognitively but will grow in self-confidence. This growth can transfer into other areas of learning such as reading, writing, and mathematics.
