My Students
Our tiny, rural, Title I school is located in central New York. My students come from a very tight-knit community, in which most of the families have lived for generations. Despite our small size, we have a diverse population, and students come from all different backgrounds and experiences.
My students are inquisitive and creative!
Every single one of my students is a remote learner this year. It is so important to me to able to provide engaging experiences for my 13 first graders, and I strive to do that, even while distance learning.
My Project
My 13 amazing first graders are all engaging in distance learning this year! They are working incredibly hard from home!
This project will help to bring my students basic supplies and hands-on materials to enhance our distance learning experience.
My students need math manipulatives to help them work through their problems with concrete examples. The counters, base 10 blocks, pattern blocks, and number paddles will all help my students during their independent math work and our live math meetings. The felt and gel pens are great incentives to enhance writing time, and the sticker incentive charts will help some of my struggling and reluctant learners!
