Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For this project, I am requesting various supplies such as cardstock, markers, paint, and glue to give students hands-on learning experiences in our Mixed Media class. With the variety of paint, for example, students will study and learn about the artist Jason Naylor and then make their version of his colorful peace signs. Students will also study the African-American artist Kimmy Cantrell and create a variation of his famous asymmetrical face masks.
With these supplies, students can engage in project-based learning to explore new artists, techniques, and ways of thinking while exploring their creativity.
At a time when our school's art budget has been drastically reduced, these supplies will make a significant difference in what students can create and explore.
