My students need to experience the world! My classroom heavily involves stations and these items would allow students to be independently engaged, eager, and excited to learn every single day! We need Scholastic News, crayons, markers, and a Hands-On Science Specimen Centers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active and engaging projects. Although most of my students have been through things in life and continue to struggle more than I myself may have never experienced, they still come to school eager to learn, socialize, and build relationships.
My students live in a low income community and do not always get to experience what we look at as something common in our lives, but to them it would be an adventure.
I want to bring as much of the outside world to my students as possible and we learn through active engagement, experience, and constant communication every single day. My students strive to not just be better students, but better humans in our society. We embark on change and my students are the key to this success.
My Project
So often my students have no idea what is going on beyond where they live and many of my students have not experienced hands on interactions with the real world...
TIME for Kids and Scholastic will bring the world to my students and they will be able to learn, understand and embrace the differences and human impact we as humans have within our life.
The science kits allow for hands on experience in the classroom that will excite them and make them eager to learn. Although technology is amazing and growing, I fear that students are losing out on personal experience and growth due to the ease of access with technology. I want students to experience learning through their own eyes and be excited about it on a day to day basis.
