Hands-on Activities for Place Value

Help me give my students place value manipulatives to help understand the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones.

My Project

One of the most difficult concepts for young scholars to understand is the difference between the value of a number and the digit.

Place value manipulatives help students see and physically move digits to each place value.These place value manipulatives will help all students with their style of learning, especially for those students who are visual and kinesthetic learners.

These tools are perfect for centers and great for small group learning.

Place value concepts are the foundation for which everything builds upon in math curriculum. It’s important that a scholar’s understanding of the tens chart is strong so that they have a clear understanding of numbers and where they belong.
