My students come in everyday and wonder what fun activities we will do today to learn something new. They are excited to learn, read, and practice social skills. They are active and full of life.
Our students come from a variety of economic backgrounds.
We are a Leader in Me School and we have the status of a Lighthouse School. We focus on all students being leaders and giving them opportunities to show their leadership skills in a variety of ways.
My Project
Activities purchased through this project will provide hands on learning opportunities for students to practice blending and sight word recognition.
Blending sounds together and recognizing sight words are important skills for kindergarten students to learn when starting to read.
These activities are multi-sensory. Students can go fishing for sight words, touch dots to blend, or manipulate magnetic letters to make words. There are various skills levels, so activities can be differentiated for student needs.
Students can practice these skills on their own, in a small group, or with teacher direction. The activities will engage students and keep them focused while learning important reading skills.
