My Students
Our school is a Title I school. Title I means that 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Our school is located in a low income area. Our students work very hard every day. Our school has a 97% attendance rate, which means they rarely miss school. My students are very inquisitive and vocal. Many of my students are very active.
Our school is one of the most diverse schools in Memphis, TN.
Our students speak multiple languages including English, Spanish, Arabic, Hindu, Amharic and Swahili. My students have a strong sense of community.
My Project
I am asking for a variety of items to help make the lives of my students a little bit easier. We are learning to take care of our bodies. We need supplies like baby wipes to keep our room and bodies clean. We also need lotion because after we get clean with the wipes we are dry and need lotion. By providing these supplies my kids are learning how to be responsible of their own bodies and the environment around them.
My students need Kleenex, baby wipes, lotion and Vaseline.
These items will be sent home with students who need them. Specifically students who have a cold will have Kleenex to take home. Students with chronic dry lips will receive a Vaseline to take home.
These might seem like such small things, but they will make a world of a difference for students who aren't provided with these things at home. Please help me in continuing to support my students who need basic living necessities so that they are ready to learn when they come to school!
