My Students

As a child, do you remember cracking open a can of fresh Play-Doh, savoring the smell all the while excitement built with all the possibilities a little lump of dough could bring your way? My kindergarten level students will be ecstatic to get their hands on this dough.

My classroom will consist of eager to learn and energetic 4, 5 and 6 year old kindergarten level students.

They have learned so much from preschool and will, no doubt, be just as eager to learn in kindergarten. They are used to using their hands and minds to create and Play-Doh serves as a fantastic medium for stretching imagination, spelling skills, word skills and fine motor skills.

My Project

At various times, during our full day, the students are given opportunities to be creative, to practice academic skills and to have fun. Play-Doh will be used in spelling, word work, language experiences, math and creative play. As the students work with this awesome compound, all of the senses (yes, even taste) will be in harmony with one another.

Not every student has the luxury of picking up a lump of dough to play with.

For whatever reason, whether the recipe for play dough is elusive or a family is financially unable to provide this fun medium, having cans of this creative material on hand will excite my students in their journey for knowledge, quest for creativity and will give them pure, simple joy.
