My Students
Working with our middle school students at Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts; it has been amazing to see how students and families have risen to the challenge of virtual learning. While we are excited for our students to return, we know that this will be another adjustment to navigate, and we want our students to have all of the support necessary for them to succeed. Our students are tenacious and will rise to any challenge as long as we give them the proper tools.
My Project
The materials being requested via this project will be used by each and every student. And while the reasons students may utilize these sensory tools will differ, the result will be the same: a healthy way to self-regulate and navigate stressful moments.
We are continuously looking for ways to offer support for our students.
This project will facilitate our ability to teach students different strategies they can use during stressful moments, both at school and at home. These tools will be placed into 'mindful kits' that we will present to our students upon their arrival.
