My student-athletes are motivated, blessed with amazing talent, and motivated to continue their education after high school. They live in an amazing resort city dominated by gambling, which means crime, drugs, and gangs. Athletics is an opportunity to do something positive with their lives, by pursuing excellence on the athletic field. High school sports are extremely competitive and in order to compete we need training opportunities other schools are afforded. Minority enrollment is 84% of the student body (majority Hispanic and Black), which is more than the state average of 54%.
Football gloves will serve to enhance execution, as well as, protect their hands so they can survive a long season.
I am requesting gloves for our offensive and defensive lineman. These are critical pieces of equipment that will maximize student strength and development, while ensuring a safe environment.
My Project
In the trenches on any given Friday night, those who can use their hands the best will prevail. The right gloves help offensive and defensive lineman considerably perform better when they have gloves designed for their position. Living in the northeast, weather conditions can affect one's performance depending on if it is extremely hot and player's hands sweat, or raining and cold making it difficult to utilize one's hands. Our student-athletes always play against teams who have gloves and this will also serve as a reward to help players feel they have earned first rate gloves by working hard in the classroom, weight room, and on the field.
