"I have not failed. I have successfully discovered 10,000 things that won't work."- Thomas Edison
This is the spirit I try to instill in my students on a daily basis.
We are fostering young mathematicians, scientists, and engineers and need calculators to help master mathematical concepts. Our low-socioeconomic school is Title I with 85+% free and reduced-price lunch. My students are hungry to learn and love to spend time in our new STEM Lab. Every day I hear, "What awesome things are we going to do today?" You can help me say, "We are learning about real-world engineering and mathematical practices taking place in our world." My students love STEM concepts and deserve the necessary equipment needed to perform daily lessons. Empowering students with the necessary equipment is our goal. I want students to leave my room and be inspired to become scientists and mathematicians. My goal is to keep my students actively engaged while learning and having fun with STEM.
My Project
With STEM initiatives it is crucial that we have the supplies we need to conduct inquiry type labs. Laboratory Safety is a must while we conduct these experiments! I am requesting simple lab equipment to protect my students in a lab setting. We are in need of dissection equipment, microscipe slides and protective gloves. Educating students to be safe while conducting labs is extremely important. My goal is to inspire my students to become young scientist while they are in lab. Maybe one day one of my young scientist will grow up and find a cure for cancer, become chemist or biologist.
