Help me give my students a storage cart for their math curriculum and math materials, as well as organizational tools to encourage independence and promote responsibility on caring for their materials.
The storage cabinet will house our math curriculum and math books. Organizational tools will encourage independence and promote responsibility, the whiteboards will be used during teacher led small group, individual students, and independent table groups.
The curiosity and joy they have displayed for learning thus far in the new school year is exciting to see.
In order to keep their joy afloat, and their interest in learning at a high level, the main goal of this project is to ensure that the environment and materials are organized, so that students and myself can get to materials needed easily to avoid any unnecessary chaos and frustrations.
Pouches will house their whiteboards for easy access as needed, and the privacy dividers will serve as dividers for testing , independent reading at tables, or other choice work that will require students to work privately while at the table.
The floor cushions will also support my students who have alternative seating needs. It will be an added comfort for students to leave the tables and find comfort spots around the class to sit and work in small groups of their choosing, as well as have discussions with others outside their immediate table group.
My students keep my in the now, which encourages me to seek out more creative ways to address their social- emotional needs, as well as their academic challenges. Each with their own unique needs, is preparing me to challenge them to rise to the occasion this school year.
They are special to me because they have always challenge me to bring the best of myself to them since Second Grade. The continuation with them to Third Grade gives us more chances to grow together, and provides me with the added opportunity to continue encouraging them to push to the higher purpose.
