Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am trying to build up our elementary school's instrument collection with 12 in. and 14 in. hand drums! Our school currently has an extremely limited supply of classroom instruments and our students love to play them. These drums will ensure that every student in class will be able to play an instrument. Our Kindergarten, First, and Second graders will get to experience the joy of percussion instruments!

There has been a ton of research to support the emotional and social health benefits to incorporating drum circles into the general music classroom!

These drums will be used to teach students rhythm reading skills and improvisation. They will also foster a sense of community and teamwork in my classroom. Please help me to support our students and bring rhythm into our school!
