Hand Bell Choir for Elementary Music Students!

My project needs 6 one octave sets of true tone hand bells and 2 sets of song charts.

I am the general music teacher to over 600 enthusiastic young musicians at 2 elementary schools in the far south side of Chicago.My youngest students are very interested in learning to play the handbells, and I would like my students in grades 1-3 to have the opportunity to play in bell choirs during music class! However, these students are unable to play the larger hand bells or use the music designed for older students because that music is designed for students who have learned how to read standard music notation. The students in grades 1-3 are only beginning to learn how to read traditional music notation, and are unable to manage the large handbells used by the older students. In order to give the primary music students the opportunity to play in a bell choir, for this project I am requesting 5 sets of handbells that have been specifically designed to be used by young children. I am also requesting 2 songcharts to be used in music class. These materials will be used by music students in grades K-3. The song charts are written in simplified notation, so the students who have not yet learned standard notation will immediately successful when they play in the handbell choir! In each set of bells, the letter name of the bell is identified by color. For example, the C bell is red. The D bell is orange. On the simplified sheet music, a red dot appears when the C bell plays and an orange dot appears when the D bell should play. This music notation is very intuitive to young children and will help guarantee that the musical experience is successful.Your generous donation will make it possible for my music students in grades K-3 to play in a handbell choir with age appropriate instruments and music, which will ensure success.
