Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with a targeted group of minority students who are facing behavior, academic, and/or socio emotional challenges. My role is to provide support in these areas so that they not only pass their classes and ensure they are able to graduate, but to also build soft skills and character traits that will make them successful out in the real world.

Every kid deserves to be a kid; safety concerns should not stand in the way of them being able to celebrate one of their favorite holidays.

There is an abundance of crime in the neighborhood around our school. There have also been many cases of drug, fentanyl specifically, accidental overdoses in our community. Many parents and students may feel that Trick or Treating is not a safe option this year.

The snacks and candy on my list will be used to create goodie bags for students so that they can still celebrate Halloween in a safe manner. My students love incentives and food and candy are their favorite. Funding this project is a win-win situation; I get students to work AND they get incentives and a fun way to celebrate Halloween. Thank you for your consideration.
