As a second grade teacher, I strive to create an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and successful. One of the most effective ways to reach students is through small group instruction, where I can tailor lessons to their individual needs. To make these sessions more effective I am requesting a half-moon/U shaped table that allows me to sit in the center and have direct, face-to-face interaction with each student. Having the right seating arrangement helps them to focus on the skill we are working on. This unique shape allows me to work closely with 4-6 students at a time, giving each child the personalized attention they need. It is perfect for reading groups, guided math, and one-on-one support. I believe it will help my students to focus better, feel supported, and grow as learners.
In addition, a document camera would enable me to project physical objects, and everyday resources directly onto the smart board screen.
