it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Funding this project will allow my students to create meaningful artwork inspired by a Haiku Poem influenced by a season and a moment in time. The ceramic projects created will be able to last a lifetime! As a teacher in a ceramics room and a growing program within the school, I lack some of the supplies to support students in their artistic journey. Students have an increasing interest in the class and a need for supplies to create their designs for their ceramic Haiku Story Boxes.
My lesson is an introduction to Haiku Poetry and Visual Literacy in Artwork.
Students will view various Japanese ceramic artworks and evaluate them using their senses. Haiku is a form of traditional Japanese poetry. Haiku poems often take inspiration from nature and seasons. Students will design and capture brief moments in time through effective poetry design reflections on their ceramic story boxes.
The glazes requested are to provide students with the means to create various forms of ceramics hand hand-building lessons final step. Applying glaze to ceramic art is the final step in the creation process. It adds color to the ceramic work and ceramic design. Students, specific designs need color through glazes that also express their feelings, establish creative ideas, and give opportunity to be successful! Aspects of students’ identities become fingerprints on their works of art. Ideas are shared through oral and written project descriptions. By donating and providing glazes to the program, we will be able to continue to support students as they embark on their path of artistic communication.
