My Students
My students are an amazing and diverse group of kiddos. They represent many different ethnic backgrounds, live in many different areas in our city and come from a large range of socioeconomic status'.
They are very enthusiastic and adaptable learners.
Studies show that exercise in schools decreases defiance/discipline issues and increases positive self-esteem. Exercise is also fun and challenging.
My students are eager and enthusiastic to learn new sports. This project will offer endless opportunities for active fun and developing physical stamina.
My Project
I am asking for 10 sets of Hacky Sacks. Hacky Sacks are a hit with students. They offer endless opportunities for active fun. For beginners or pros, this simple bag of beans is a great addition to my PE program.
Students can learn to juggle and work on throwing and catching with Hacky Sacks.
They can also add a bat, racquet or paddle to work on swinging or striking skills.
Students can learn balance, dodging in a controlled manner, jumping, leaping, spinning, and hopping. All very important life skills.
All of these physical literacy building activities can done indoors, which is great for cold winter days.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
