Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at the school are one-of-a-kind. They love school just as much as the next child. The one thing that many of the students look forward to is coming to school and right now they cannot. My students come from low, socio-economic status, inner-city communities, and struggle with reading, math, science, history, and social skills. I need to do all I can to help these students progress to well-developed, smart young men and women who can function effectively in the world we live in today while learning at home. To effectively teach students at a wide range of levels, I need many resources. Help me bring in the necessary materials to help my students succeed in school.
The majority of the students at the school come from low-economic households.
Students and parents do not have the financial means to provide essentials and we need to help students achieve greatness during COVID-19.
My Project
This project is very unique. Since we are living in a world where COVID-19 has taken over, we have to change the way that we do things. We have to make sure that the students do not share items, have refillable water bottles since water fountains are not functional and make sure they have the correct amount of snacks when they are on special diets (food scale).
Getting snack items for the classroom that are individualized will eliminate the need to share items.
It is very important for my ASD students to have snack items to get them through the long school day. Some items will also be sent home for the students that need the items at home also.
