Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My 6th grade students have been making great use of the guitars we acquired toward the beginning of the semester. We have been using them daily in class in addition to using them on quarterly performances.

I am now looking to further elevate my students' guitar education by acquiring additional accessories and equipment such as capos, straps, cables, and stands.

Starting the modern band program at my school has been an educational experience not just for my students, but for myself as well. After these first few months, I now have a much better idea of what exactly my students need to succeed, and what will help them reach even greater heights. The items in this project were chosen with that in mind, and I look forward to seeing the amazing things my students will accomplish with them.
