There is no "typical" day in my Math and Science class. You never know if you will be going on a nature walk to observe living and nonliving things in an ecosystem, entering a star lab, or solving real-world math problems. Learning is an adventure here.
My students come to me with limited backgrounds and experiences.
We are a rural school in a high poverty area. Therefore, it is important to me as a teacher to provide my students with many memorable and lasting learning experiences. My students are excited to learn, and they thrive in my classroom when I can create hands-on learning opportunities for them. Through the funding of this project, you will help make this possible for my students.
Our class will be adopting a guinea pig. We would like to purchase bedding, a house, water bottle, litter pan and hay rack for our guinea pigs habitat. We will you the guinea pig in our classroom to learn about living things and the responsibility of taking care of them.
My students will be responsible for daily care of the guinea pig and maintaining its habitat.
The purchase of these materials will help our guinea pig live comfortably. In addition to maintaining the guinea pig our class will also learn how to grow wheat grass for the guinea pig to play in and eat but also work to train our guinea pig. We are very excited to have the opportunity to have a class pet!
