My Students

I currently teach 22 2nd graders in my class but I teach both second grade classes science. My students are very interested in learning. It is important to keep the students interested and engaged with fun and interactive lessons. We have a small classroom and I am trying to find creative ways to utilize space. All the resources will be used for years to come to help my current and future students be their best.

We are in a high poverty area and my students struggle with focusing and on task behaviors.

Many of my students are used to chaos. They want to do well but many lack coping skills to complete tasks and get along socially. My students need an outlet for their energy to help them stay focused and complete tasks.

My Project

I teach Science to 2 second grade classes. They absolutely love learning about the world around them. Having a physical resource like Science Spin Magazine to help them learn about up-to-date findings in science would be a great benefit. We have Science textbooks but they are very old and not very relatable.

My students have a difficult time working independently.

The Ipevo Zigga document camera would allow for easier guided practice in my classroom. The guided practice would be useful in all subjects, especially, math, writing and reading. It would also allow for students to show and share their work with the class on the projection screen.
