Guided Reading Fundamentals

My students need guided reading and intentional read aloud books. They also need dry erase erasers and lamenting materials to save money and paper.

My Students

My classroom is a kindergarten classroom in a Title 1 district. We currently have 30 students. My students are hands-on learners but love to use all of their senses to explore in the classroom. They love centers and to work in groups.

My school is big on engaging children in inquiry-based learning and allowing them to move around the room to provide a move individualized education.

We are energetic and need the use of our multiple learning styles to maintain focus.

My Project

My students participate in daily guided reading and intentional read alouds. New books will give us a variety for students to choose from. When students can choose their own books they are more engaged in lessons. The intentional read aloud books help us learn story elements. They also need dry erase erasers and lamenting materials to save money and paper. We can print 5 papers and laminate them so we can use them time and time again for all 30 students. This saves us paper and we get to use cool colored dry erase markers during supplemental activities for enhanced guided reading.
