My students need magnetic letters to practice letter sounds and sight words. My students need the fat pencils, grips, and notebooks to practice their writing skills.
I work at a Title 1 school. My kindergarteners need to be reading at a Level C by the end of the year. These supplies will help them by providing engaging and fun centers that will encourage long term learning! These supplies will give those that are struggling that push to learn more! Thank you!
My kindergarteners come from low income homes.
Parents cannot supply the items from the school supply list. I am a first year teacher, so I can only provide so much. They have a desire to learn and an appetite for knowledge. They are awesome kiddos who just need a little extra help. We have tons of fun everyday, learning songs and dancing to help retain what they are learning. They love doing different activities during centers and these supplies will help.
My Project
We will use the magnetic letters to play games with during center time. We will use them to start sounding out sight words.
The dry erase markers will be used to practice writing their names, letters, and sight words on dry erase boards. The books will be used during reading lessons to help them learn to read. The crayons will be used for the letter of the week book that I make for them. The pencils and grips will be used in our writing center, where they practice writing the letters, their names, and sentences. They will be able to identify all letters and sounds, sight words, write their names, all letters upper and lowercase, and sight words. They will be able to understand how a sentence is composed and the parts of a book. But most of all, they will learn to read and have fun while doing it!
This project will change my students lives by providing more resources for me to teach them how to read.
This project will expose them to different ways of learning, not just using flashcards to learn their alphabet. This will make my classroom a much more differentiated classroom. All of my kindergarteners will be able to read at a level C by the end of the year because we will have the supplies to do so!
