it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a first grade public school teacher in a low income/high need community, I try to expose my first grade students to all facets of learning in order to help them meet their potential and enjoy the learning experience.
I have a group of ambitious and eager public school students who love to read and write.
They are learning to apply what they learned in order to comprehend and delve deeply into various fiction stories and non-fiction texts during reading workshop and guided reading.
My Project
Many first graders are just learning how to read. They learn various reading and comprehension skills during reading workshop, independent and partner reading, shared reading, literacy centers, and guided reading groups.
Specific easy to read books that are aligned to students' reading levels are critical to use during all reading lessons throughout the day.
These books are used to help students practice their reading skills, enhance their comprehension, expose them to new words, and help them gain confidence to become better readers. Students can apply the skills developed during their reading lessons to other subjects like writing, math, science, and social studies.
