This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students learn every day through inquiry and multiple means of representation. They love exploring different ways to solve one problem. They think outside the box when finding solutions.

In our classroom, we like to not only learn by listening, but also by seeing and doing.

My students not only learn from me, but they learn from each other and themselves. My students are curious and eager to learn! With teamwork and perseverance, they can accomplish anything they set their minds to in my class!

My Project

A main portion our day consists of guided reading. Guided reading is where I can meet with a group of 4-5 students and read with them reading and exploring with books which are a little more difficult than their independent level (the level where students can read books on their own).

Guided reading is very beneficial because it enables me to read closely with students and give them the instruction that they need.

The books in this order will be used for guided reading. Many books that are used for guided reading I find are not appropriate. These books are leveled books at various levels that are specifically made for guided reading. So not only will I be able to increase our guided reading collection but students will learn how to read with new engaging texts.
