Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 8-9 year olds in a third grade classroom in Worcester, MA, and come from very diverse backgrounds. Our school is located in a low income population, and many students are English Language Learners. Every day, my students come in excited and ready to learn. They are curious about the world around them, and persevere through challenges and hardships to try their best.
Third grade is a transformative year where many students learn how to become independent as writers, readers, lifetime learners.
My students are eager to learn everyday, and deserve to have a classroom filled with materials that foster their love for learning and exploration.
My Project
The materials involved in this project will go towards creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for our guided reading.
The stools will create a kid-friendly environment for students, while being easily stack-able and usable for other activities or gatherings.
I have been trying to implement more seating options for my students to ensure that their needs are met.
The copy paper will keep us fully supplied for printing class copies of activities, assignments, homework, and hard copy of readings. We also use copy paper for free writing, or annotating our readings and articles during writing time. Thank you for your donations!
