My Students
My students are from a suburban school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our school is made up of kindergarten through sixth grade with approximately 400 students. The students I work with are in need of reinforcing their reading skills through the use of effective, research-based strategies to help build their literacy skills in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
When students are engaged, their learning is maximized!
I would like to immerse my students' learning through the use of guided readers to work on research based reading skills. The guided readers resource will help me to teach sight words, fluency, and comprehension skills in a consistent manner during such a challenging time for students. This is the second year I am requesting access to this program because it has proven to be very beneficial to my students.
My Project
Guided readers is an online teaching resource offering a structured approach designed for today's real and virtual classrooms. The program is a comprehensive program that fosters learning through 15- to 20-minute small group differentiated, instructional lessons. The lessons empower teachers by providing materials that will guide effective, streamlined activities.
The lessons will take your students from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." The multi-level readers, lessons and activities are consistent, comprehensive and engaging.
This is my second year requesting this resource due to its effectiveness and flexibility. It has many valuable components, including the ability to access materials online.
