Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students all come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds near the heart of Houston, Texas. They do not have many opportunities outside of the classroom to grow in their learning because their parents are often busy working and cannot help them. They are hardworking students and I want to be able to provide them with opportunities to experience a variety of activities both in and out of the classroom.
My school is a Title I school where the majority of our students are from low-income homes.
The school does its best to provide what they can to our students, but cannot always meet the demands. After school programs are an opportunity for them to safely explore and grow as future members of our society.
My Project
We are doing our best to keep everything in its place, but our classroom lacks organization this new year. To better organize our guided math workstations, sturdy boxes and labels are a must. We will use the storage bins to keep our workstations neat and we will stick labels on each bin with the name of the activity and the math unit it belongs in. We have many workstations that have several pieces (small and large) and the storage bins will keep everything in its place. The photo storage box is for all of the small math workstation cards, that will be printed on the card stock to make the learning more colorful! The photo box is the perfect size for a lot of the activities.
Your donation will help keep our classroom in tip top shape when it comes to our guided math workstations.
This project will help my students be able to easily access their workstation materials, which will save time. They will then have more time to learn in their workstations!
