At our low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. To help them overcome the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
Being in a small district in a rural community, many of my students need to be able to practice skills over and over.
They come to school full of energy and excitement for what each day might bring. They are used to being outdoors and helping out in the garden, with farm animals, and around the house. They come to school needing to have more than just paper and pencil activities to help them learn.
My Project
The items I am requesting will help the students work as a whole class, as well as in math stations to master lessons for second grade.
Our class needs hands-on activities to be successful while learning various math standards.
The items I am requesting will help us work together in various ways to help with differing learning styles in our classroom. They will also be used during guided math stations to help students work successfully while I work with other students.
Hands-on activities really help students grasp concepts of learning more concretely where they can be successful when working problems. These items will help with that tremendously!
