This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We're the Eagles and my Kindergarten Eaglets are ready to SOAR! I am moving to kindergarten and have few early education materials for my hardworking, respectful and kind students from very diverse backgrounds. They struggle to meet grade level standards, but will arrive every morning with smiles on their faces and a willingness to do their best.

Our schedule, even at the kindergarten level, is packed with district mandated curriculum.

However, we still work hard to incorporate art, physical education, technology and play whenever we can to help our Eagles learn and grow.

My Project

A bright and shiny light table will provide my Kindergarten students with an area to practice newly acquired math skills and develop storytelling skills with trade and homemade materials in a unique way. In addition, the light table will build their reading and writing skills when the explore translucent letters and trace words. The light table can also be used during choice centers and art. As a new to kindergarten teacher, I have very few materials or equipment for these eager learners. The light table will be a new learning experience for the kindergartners that I am confident will be one of the most popular items in our classroom.
