My students are amazing and can do amazing things. They come to school every day with a positive attitude and commit to working hard and growing not just as learners, but also as people. My school has a growing population of kids living in poverty and trauma.
I want my classroom to be a safe and engaging place where kids can learn, ask questions, and grow!
I am dedicated to be strong, kind, and committed to my students in their learning journey!
"Everybody is a Genius. But If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Live Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid."
This story, Fish in a Tree, has been my go-to read aloud to begin the school year for three years now. Each year, students connect with the main character Ally and her struggle to develop a growth mindset in the face of an undiagnosed learning disability.
I would love for this project to grow and get this novel into the hands of students to enrich our discussions and use this as our first novel study of the year.
