Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students attend a public Title I school in South Carolina. They are a great group of boys that simply love coming to school and adore learning. My students have a passion for discovering new things and come to school daily hungry for more.
Our classroom is blessed with many diverse students, some who have learning disabilities, speak a foreign language, and even a few who are newcomers to the United States.
It is our diverse population that makes us special and allows us to grow.
My Project
Please help me to give my students their own growth mindset journals! My vision is to have my eager, all boy class stroll through the door excited to journal.
Often males and young boys are told to suppress their feelings and emotions in the name of manliness!
My hope is to teach these young boys that emotions are healthy. I'd like to even go one step further and teach them different ways and strategies to deal with some of the strong emotions that they will have to deal with throughout their lives.
