Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Since the middle of March, our students have been continuing their education from home. Our school provided a Chromebook loan program, so in theory all of the students have access to the necessary technology. We are assigning work through Google Classroom and are working to maintain community through virtual meetings and video sessions.
While most students have the materials they need to make their home learning a success, the human connection is lacking.
My Project
As part of our weekly at school curriculum, we worked to promote and instill a growth mindset in our classroom. While learning from home, we want to continue to reinforce these life long healthy habits. These student journals will serve as a learning tool for the remainder of the school year and beyond.
These journals can serve as a way to reflect, set goals, and work through obstacles.
During this time of uncertainty, a dose of positivity and hope will make a world of difference. The mailers, wrapping tools, and gel pens will add joy to the delivery process.
