My Project

My project is a yearlong pedagogical plan to increase English for our second language learners. I have requested garden related items for our unit on "The Lovely Garden." During this unit I integrate literacy, Learning English and processing academic language vocabulary. Students engage in planting and monitoring the growth of seeds they plant using important language such as photosynthesis and germination. The bulletin board kits requested are for use during this unit.

We also work to build phonemic awareness and phonological awareness according to the Science of Reading Research.

A classroom rug will provide a special classroom space for us to work on letter identification, sound and the like.
