My Project
The use of whiteboards in math is a daily activity in my classroom. Math is truly a concept in which students need to be able to "see" the math. These whiteboards will help us visualize essential 3rd grade math concepts such as fractions, elapsed time, place value, multiplication, and division.
Additionally, we are an IB school and in need of learning materials to bring these units to life.
These rock samples will help the students learn about the forces that change Earth. AS we study rocks, photographs are not enough. They need to be able to see and feel the rocks and their features to learn about the rock types and how they are formed.
Another IB unit we do involves learning about financial literacy through a classroom economy. These cash registers will help students set up and run classroom stores for both their needs and wants. They will learn about spending and saving money and making good choices in regards to their money.
