This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My project is intended to help students on the Autism Spectrum grow in many different ways through recreational gardening.

My students are exceptional in many ways and I want to provide the best opportunities for them to learn about food sourcing, and our environment.

The students love spending time outdoors and are very curious as to how to plant flowers and vegetables. With these tools, students will be able to participate in a variety of fun learning activities that will help them develop emotionally, physically and neurologically. Students will help plant flowers for our Recreation Therapy Garden, learn skills to maintain a garden and the surrounding landscape of our school. These skills can be utilized in their development which will allow them more access to other skills and possible lifetime hobbies and employment opportunities.
