This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kiddos are great!! They have a desire to learn and grow in their knowledge for all areas of school. Watching them bloom throughout the school year is my "Why?". I love the smile on their faces when they have a breakthrough moment, reach a goal, or help out a classmate when they are struggling. These students attend a small, rural Title I school, where 97% of them are transported by bus to and from school, and all of them receive free or reduced lunches.

We have been through a very difficult period of time while trying to learn and grow.

They want to be a kid and just enjoy life, but at the same time I want to keep them healthy and safe. That means physically and emotionally as well.

The 2021-2022 school year has been a success story so far as we have been transitioning back to a normal educational experience for my kids. The virtual learning of last year created new hardships for my class and our school. I am trying to make sure I can provide all materials needed for my class to be safe and healthy while they learn.

My Project

These items will not only keep us healthy and safe in class, but also help us to develop a sense of who we are and how we are a family here in our class. The equipment will give them some fun exercise times outside, while the cleaning supplies help keep us healthy indoors. The voice amplifier will insure the kids can hear me both in class and virtually as well.

We need to grow our minds and our bodies while we continue to show respect and concern for others around us, and the books will help us understand why we need to respect and support everyone all of the time.

We have had so many challenges the past 2 years, but with nurturing and key learning we, are overcoming our problems and thriving as a class of friends and scholars. We can be successful learners!!
