This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are hoping to be able to use new technology to grow upward instead of outward. We would love to be able to get a tower garden to learn about sustainable agriculture and farming in confined spaces. With the tower garden, we can learn about the use of LED lights and their importance in plant requirements. We will also be able to learn about hydroponics and the reuse of water and nutrients.
We would also like to have a weather station to monitor the weather and plan accordingly for our school farm and the growing of our plants.
A weather station would be extremely helpful for planning.
The speaker with microphone would be beneficial to be able to communicate with the students while they are on our school garden.
Our students might not have finances; however, they do have dreams! Our students at our school perform better in smaller class settings with more hands-on learning. We definitely embrace a learn by doing motto in the garden.
We have amazing students with big dreams, and we just want to give them the same type of access to materials and technology as any other high school. Thank you so much for your time and consideration in donating to my students and class!
