This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school is a school for newcomers to the US. We have students from 28 different countries, speaking 18 different languages. There are a lot... a lot of differences! But there are some amazing similarities.

Gardening, flowers, and food are one thing we have in common.

Many students come from agricultural backgrounds. Their families farmed in their home countries. Now, in MA, they are adjusting to a new climate in their new country. We have the space for a garden! We will use the hydroponic kits to start some of our seeds and study and document their growth. Then we will build community by planting and sharing the harvest together!
