This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

A garden project would be beneficial for my students because it provides hands-on learning experiences about plant growth, ecosystems, and sustainability. It also encourages responsibility, teamwork, and fosters a connection with nature. A garden project offers opportunities for creativity and exploration outside of the traditional classroom setting. Additionally, students learn about food deserts to understand the disparities in access to fresh, healthy foods within communities. By studying food deserts, students will understand the impact on public health, socioeconomic factors, and potential solutions such as urban agriculture, community gardens, and policy initiatives aimed at improving food access.
