This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, my co-teacher and I have devoted our time to reforming our literacy practices to truly meet the needs of our learners. We need the UFLI Foundations guide in order to guide our instruction and continue to support our readers. With help from this guide, we will be able to implement targeted phonological work through decodable texts. Our classroom has twenty-two students, some of who have IEPs. Each child in our classroom has varying needs and challenges. But what they all have in common is that they are hardworking and resilient. They are eager to learn and try new techniques for learning.
