Growing Roots: Cultivating Culture in Our School Garden!

My Project

Aloha! I’m excited to share my project that aims to create a vibrant garden plot at our school, where we will grow taro and sweet potato—two plants rich in cultural history here in Hawaii.

In my Environmental Science class, I believe that hands-on learning is essential for understanding our environment and its significance to our community.

By cultivating these traditional crops, students will gain practical gardening skills and explore the cultural importance of these plants in Hawaiian history and cuisine.

With your support, I will acquire essential materials such as soil, gardening tools, seeds, and irrigation supplies to make our garden flourish. This project will foster a deep appreciation for sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and our unique cultural heritage.
