Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students attend a middle school in the small agricultural community of Farmersville, located in California's Central Valley. They come to school each day with a genuine desire to learn and improve, and they understand that strong reading skills will open doors for every class they take and every opportunity they pursue. My goal is to provide them with a safe, welcoming classroom where they feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and growing into confident readers.

Every student deserves a classroom where they feel capable, supported, and inspired to learn.

I am building a brand-new reading intervention classroom from the ground up, and every resource in this project has been carefully selected with my students in mind. The high-interest books will give students access to stories they are excited to read, helping them build fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and most importantly, a love for reading. I am requesting some decor and organizational supplies to transform the classroom into a calm, inviting space that encourages students to feel proud of their classroom and excited to walk through the door each day. We also need notebooks, markers, laminating supplies, and colored paper.

Your generosity will help create more than just a classroom, it will create a place where struggling readers can build confidence, discover books they enjoy, and develop the literacy skills they need to be successful in every subject. Together, we can provide my students with the tools, encouragement, and environment they need to become lifelong readers and confident learners.
