My students attend a Title I school in Virginia, which means most of the children come from single-family homes, who are doing everything they can just to make ends meet.
When they come to school, it is my job to provide them with a warm, nurturing, safe place to learn.
I strive to provide them access to materials that they may not have available to them at home. With you donation, I can help my students become successful first graders!
My Project
With your donation, you will help provide my class with a variety of reading and writing manipulatives, games, and activities to help make abstract concepts more concrete. Struggling readers and writers need lots of tactile practice to improve their skills.
Through the hands-on activities requested, my students will be able to use roll letter cubes to make, blend, read, and spell a variety of words.
The games will help them build their reading and spelling skills, as well as hone their cooperation skills necessary for future careers. With the writing spacers and page protectors, they will also have the tools needed to help them edit their writing pieces.
