This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are always excited to learn, and try new things. They have learned how plants help the environment, by providing food and most importantly oxygen.
Students are continuing to learn about the importance of plants and the crucial part they play in our planet and the environment.
In the fall my class planted kale and radishes. They observed the growth weekly.
The fall crop was eventually harvested. The class enjoyed kale chips and salad.
In past school year, I had plant seeds for kids to take to their home garden. My kids still sometimes talk about their tomatoes and how they grew.
I would like my students this year to be have a variety of plants to take home to their summer garden.
This project will keep the cost down because seeds are cheaper than having to buy plants. Students will learn to grow plants from seeds, and learn the growth process.
