Growing Our Own Food

Help me give my students hand trowels, shrub rakes, and gloves to use in our school garden as part of my health class.

My Project

As a K through eight, health education teacher in an urban setting, I am teaching kids environmental health within our school garden. Our supplies are limited, old, and continue to break and I am looking to replace and restore some equipment.

All students will have multiple opportunities to prep garden, mix soil, plant vegetables, and help maintain the six giant raised vegetable garden beds throughout the season.

There is nothing more valuable to a child than to give them the experience of starting with a seed and ending up with a vegetables to bring home and share with their family. We need these trowels, rakes, and gloves to work in our garden.
