This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I’m seeking to bring two popular and engaging book series—Dog Man and The Baby-Sitters Club—into my classroom to help foster a love for reading among my students. These series offer exciting, relatable stories that appeal to a wide range of readers. Dog Man combines humor, adventure, and graphic novel format, making it an excellent choice for reluctant readers or those still building fluency. The Baby-Sitters Club brings relatable social situations and strong friendships to life, which can encourage deeper reading and comprehension for students.
These series of books will provide my students with diverse options that support their growth as independent readers.
Our goal is to expand our classroom library with books that will motivate my students to read more. By offering them two full series, I can create excitement around reading, build their stamina, and provide opportunities for group reading and discussions. My hope is that these books will inspire students to set personal reading goals, share favorite stories with their peers, and gain confidence in their reading abilities.
My students are still developing their reading skills, but they’re eager to explore books that match their interests and abilities. By supporting this project, you will directly contribute to their academic growth and love for reading!
